Are you looking for a Match 3 game that means more than just matching identical stuff in groups of three? Well, come on over to Simon’s Cat – Crunch Time. You get a dose of comedy on top of the usual Match 3 mechanics that you’ve already become an expert at.
Okay, so there are various characters in this game and all of them are cats. They’ll be the main driving force behind the narrative and the flow of the story. They’ll also be the main source of comedic timing so you can be sure that you’re not only enjoying a Match 3 game; you’re also entertaining yourself with a lot of laughs while you play.
Like most Match 3 games, this title gives you goals that you have to accomplish in each level. You have to do this within the set number of moves that are given to you by the AI. You’re mainly involved with feeding the cats that are perched on top of the fence, below which is the game board where the objects are placed.
Now, objects here in Simon’s Cat – Crunch Time are called “treats.” When you match up 3 treats together, they’ll be eliminated from the board and sent to one of the cat’s food tray. Now, each cat will require a specific treat. You’ll know that by their thought balloons, which also tell you how many of those treats that cat wants to eat.
Once you’ve fed all of the hungry cats on the fence, the game ends and you’re treated to a hilarious cut scene of a cat and a crow fighting. Sometimes the crow succeeds; sometimes it is hit in the back with a stick by the cat.
There are also unique treats that you may be required to collect. For instance, some treats are on top of a goldfish and you need to match those treats up in order to collect the goldfish. You guessed it right – the cats will eat the goldfish.
To make it easier for you to meet your goals, the game gives you the capability to create special treats. You can do this by matching up 4 or more treats together. These treats will eliminate the line in which the last treat you highlight falls in. The direction depends on the orientation of the beads found on these treats. So, horizontal beads means the line is destroyed in a horizontal manner, so on and so forth.
Progressing through the levels also gives you bonuses in terms of gifts. They are opened in between certain levels, and gives you boosters and other free but useful stuff.
Simon’s Cat – Crunch Time is totally free to play. No purchase necessary, so you should go ahead and give it a try. The game is available on Facebook, so it shouldn’t be that hard for you to take it out on a spin.
