Happy Chef is an excellent restaurant themed restaurant game in which you must help a young girl who is on her quest to become one of the best chefs that the world has ever seen. It’s more of a traditional styled game meaning that you won’t have access to things like power-ups so the only thing you can rely on is your own skill.
To help get players started, Happy Chef’s first few levels double up as tutorial levels. These levels aren’t necessarily that difficult to complete but the point of them is basically to teach newcomers all the basics of the game. You’ll be able to complete them in a matter of minutes and will then be able to move on to the usual gameplay. Keep in mind though that you can’t skip these levels and this might put a few people off but it’s a negligible issue overall.
As mentioned before, Happy Chef tries to stay traditional with its gameplay. This might seem like a step backwards but it actually works out because players can enjoy a refreshing experience that’s unlike most modern day time management games. In each level you’ll basically have customers walking up to the counter and ordering food. In order to prepare the food you have to click on the ingredients in the proper sequence. Keep in mind that if you mess up the sequence you’ll have to make the whole dish from the very beginning so be extra careful about this.
At the end of each level you’ll be given coins depending on how well you did. Coins can be used in the shop to purchase various decorations that can make the experience better for your customers. You can also upgrade your menu and add new dishes. Adding new dishes might make the game a bit more challenging but it’ll also attract more customers to your restaurant so it’s something that you have to do if you want to make progress.
Happy Chef is not only great fun to play but it’s a delight to look at as well. The animations are very well designed and there are multiple different kinds of customers so you’ll get to see someone different every time rather than the game repeating the same customer model over and over again. The colors of the are also quite vibrant and overall it excels in the graphics department.
When you download this game for the first time you’ll be able to play it for 60 minutes on a trial basis after which it can be purchased for its standard price which will lift all time restrictions and allow you to play as long as you want.
Happy Chef is an excellent time management game that allows players enjoy a classical experience.
